2 Day Trip to Venice
This is the option to combine your Bavaria visit with a wounderful night in Venice.
Please find below the suggested driving instruciton. This way leads you through the river Inn valley to Innsbruck (don't forget the motorway toll sticker for Austria). Form there you pass the Brennero Alps trails down to Bolzano and Verona. Here you can visit the Arena di Verona and all the other famous sights of the city. No go to Venice (just park your car at the big parking garage in Tronchetto and go to the downtown area north of the Canale Grande), but be sure to be there at 3 p.m. (on weekdays). so you can enjoy the afternoon with one of the best shopping possibility in northern Italy. Here you can find the famous Italian designers next to each other, jewellery , opticians, antiques, traditional Venice stuff or just some bargains. For dinner you will have the choice of endless restaurants and in some small alleys you will find traditional Italian Restaurants serving local food. Now you have time to go to a concert or just enjoy Venice at night. Get a hotel close San Marco square so you can start with all the other famous sights in this area on the next morning. On your way back to your car in Tronchetto, now take the south of Canale Grande way and you will find even more shopping and sights. Be sure to be back at your car latest 24h after you parked it otherwise you will have to pay another full day of parking fees. To see more of Italy and Austria now you take the eastern way back to Germany. Here you will pass Udine, Villach and pass the Alps on the Tauern trail. For Dinner you should be back in Salzburg and after this it will be less than an hour drive to go back to the vacation home.
